Grateful for the Tender

Tender - n: (Nautical)  - A vessel attendant on other vessels, especially one that ferries supplies between ship and shore.

Our good friends at Morning Sock Studios helped us communicate the idea in our minds and designed a totally custom boat name logo. As with any tender, the boat name can be displayed and since "Mellow" is actually just another tender (see above), after all. Along with the "sticker" for the stern we got 2 pieces to add to our name boards on port and starboard sides and a few to throw on any buckets, school folders or oars we might think mark! Also included were some of this size, perfect for tagging up the car.

First, we cleaned the area with the denatured alcohol.
Second, we sprayed the clean area with slightly soapy water.
Then we peeled the backing paper from the vinyl and set the logo in the space we picked out. The soapy water allows some forgiveness in placing the logo so that you can slide it around and you don't end up with a crooked name.
Next, using a plastic squeegee or the edge of a credit card we push the water out from underneath the lettering allowing the letters to stick.
After a few minutes, carefully peel off the top layer of plastic to reveal your vinyl design.

Hatteras spurred this idea.

Looking in the rear view mirror gives me so much joy when I see Felicity's awesome name. I really don't see how we could have gotten this far without "Mellow" she's been doing a ton of shuttling to and from Felicity and hauls Gia back and forth to school. We've gotten to visit Grama, our friends in Miami and lugged loads of supplies aboard. As far as tenders go, she's been s HUGE help! We are gratefully marking our territory. :)
